At the end of this session, participants will be familiar with BreakoutEdu, an immersive learning games platform that requires learners to think outside of the box in order to break into physical and/or digital boxes with various locks. Modeled after the escape room design concept, Breakout Edu requires learners use communication, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration and is adaptable to all subject areas, grade levels, and learner types (teachers included!). Breakout Edu games also provide learners with opportunities to "fail forward" and cultivate grit. Participants will not only learn about the game platform but will have the opportunity to experience it in this session and will find that the platform can be an excellent tool for engagement and building relationships in the school community and classroom. This session is designed for any educators or administrators who work at elementary schools.
