Limited Capacity filling up
At the end of this session, participants will take away ideas for STEAM collaborations after seeing how a 1st grade teacher and media specialist are working together to incorporate STEAM activities into the curriculum to teach content standards. Through weekly collaborations, students participate in transdisciplinary lessons which provide students the opportunity to build, design, and explore with various materials. See what our students have created and experience these lessons for yourself in this hands-on session.

Media Specialist, East Aiken School of the Arts
Melanie Starks has been the media specialist at East Aiken School of the Arts since 2010. She is a former middle school language arts teacher. She received a B.S. in Elementary Education from Presbyterian College and M.M.C. and M.L.I.S. from USC.
