Many of our students are capable of finding the answer to a given equation related to decimals and fractions; however, too few actually understand why the answer they obtained is correct. In this session, we will explore how students can use models to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals and fractions. Mastery of these strategies are necessary prerequisites for our students prior to their being truly ready to transition to standard algorithms when working with decimals and fractions.
