At the end of this session, participants will be able to teach students the process of being a good leader and how to help students develop effective communication styles and decision-making skills. Having leadership skills help students focus on what is important. Participants will learn how to use leadership activities in the classroom which will assist students to develop skills necessary as they prepare for middle and high school. Laying the foundation for developing leadership skills involves critical thinking and exploring solutions to problems that sidetrack team projects and other group activities. Participants will leave with the knowledge of how to help students be leaders, how to use student-led conferences in the classroom, implementing student data notebooks for growth and goal setting and leave with a packet of resources needed for student data notebooks.
