At the end of this session, participants will be able to customize a weekly Math spiral to meet the needs of their students. Spiraling math reinforces essential math skills with consistent daily practice, correction, and review. This format allows teachers to follow the pacing guide while offering additional support in prior standards that were not mastered. Students explain and correct their spiral daily thus providing immediate feedback. On Friday, students use their spiral with corrections to take a quiz. Through this assessment, teachers discover which standards were mastered and which standards need additional review. Weekly spiral can be created as homework or morning work and is completely customizable to your students' needs. All key strands of math are addressed including Operations in Base Ten, Fractions, Geometry, Operations and Algebraic Thinking and Measurement and Data. Come learn how easy it is to create a focused weekly Math Spiral for your classroom!
